Okay, so I have this thing about airport fashion, and I didn’t even recognize it until earlier this year. Ever since I was little, my absolute favorite part of flying has always been sitting in the terminal and watching people as they rush past me with their various bags and ensembles. There were the whiny teenaged girls in their Juicy Couture sweatsuits and the frumpy moms in unflattering jeans and tennis shoes. And then there were always the fabulous women who looked effortlessly put together, dressed in dark, comfortable looking clothes with perfectly blown out hair and sporting a single stylish carry on bag. Clearly these were the women who had it together, who wasted not a single inch of bag space for unnecessaries, who settled into their seat and ordered a mini bottle of chardonnay which they sipped whilst flipping through Steve Jobs’s biography on their iPad. Yes, this woman does exist. And her figure in my mind is like a deity of stylish comfort in my drab, oily-skinned, frizzy-haired existence.
Can you imagine my joy when I realized that I could actually google the phrase “airport fashion” and blogs upon blogs would appear filled with photos of celebrity airport styles? And surprise, the most blogs I found on this topic were centered on K-pop stars and their fabulousness.
My friend Frances suggested I try googling “SNSD Airport Fashion” and boy, I was not sorry. Here are a few of my favorites.
As I begin my voyage back to the Peach State this evening, rest assured that I will not be sporting a tiny minidress or heeled booties. My hair will rest in a topknot as I snuggle up in a wrap sweater and a huge scarf, commoner that I am. But you better believe I’ll be creeping on the affluent women of the Honolulu International Airport who are clearly in control of their lives, figuratively rubbing my hands together and plotting my rise to fabulousness.
“Yes….someday soon, my precious…”

This is so cool! I’m definitely going to have to google this sometime soon. They all look so put-together and I love it. Have a good trip home!
